I would go with a stereotypical fiction, but it’s
fascinating to learn from a story too!!
Just like we did in our childhood, we tend to read stories
that made us feel proactive and happy, though they were fiction, but we felt
like they happened in reality.
Those were the stories, this is going to be a story about
something that we need to think upon.
“Once upon a time there was a very proficient, accomplished
king of a state, who had a very good rapport with his people in state. One day,
his friend, the king of other state, came to meet him up for general
discussions and after those long hours of general talks, they had a dinner, but
the king didn’t know what his friend was up to. He came up there to kill the
king, just to conquer the state. And so, he planned every activity to make that
thing happen and yes he did. He lit up the fire in the curtain of the king’s
room, but fortunately the king was being escaped from this evil act by his
commander of army. When he came to know about the one who was behind all that
thing, i.e. his friend, he decided to punish him with the death penalty. So, as
the proceedings happened, he was “hanged till death”. Although the king didn’t
like what he was doing, he ended up being sad. When he was asked about the
burial, he refused for a funeral that time to which hand of “that” commander
raised. He asked the king, “Your majesty, with due respect, I would like to ask
something” to which the king allowed him to ask. “Your majesty, what would you
do if you face a failure in future? Would you be sad thereafter the whole life
or would you take up a lesson and cover up your failure with a success?” asked
the sanguine commander. The king, without giving a second thought, came up with
the latter one as his option. “I got my answer, your majesty” said the
commander with a smile on his face. The king then asked him that why did he ask
that question, to which the commander replied “Your majesty, I wanted to tell
you that, we are not the ones who won’t respect someone’s tradition or culture.
Regarding the burial that was being discussed before, I wanted to suggest you
that the remains of your friend should be buried with due respect and it should
not prejudice the ethics of our culture. I wanted to tell our people that,
though our friends betrayed us, but we won’t let our virtuousness go drain. I
wanted to tell that, though we have enemies in our friends, but that doesn’t
mean that we don’t respect their morals”. The king got amazed by his answer and
he appreciated him with lots of incentives. And the king did the funeral
session for his friend cum enemy and compensate the loss of the state of his
friend by taking over the state with all the responsibilities.
Now thinking why did I tell this story? To make you know
that people who are good, will be the same whatever happens to them. And if
they don’t want to be, they could become the same by the people like the
commander acted for the king. The king was a very kind hearted person, so
without a second thought in his mind, he did what his commander suggested him
to do.
We people are being
tested, judged and the cycle goes on. You don’t be even knowing that some would
instantly judge you by your eye contact!
Never be afraid of someone’s judgement because they won’t be
thinking what you do and won’t be suffering what you from. You have to prove
them that you are going to do what you want to. You are different than others.
What the king did was nothing less than a courtesy towards the culture from
which he belong to and his friend did.
Don’t let that goodness drain just because someone betrayed
you. You know what’s more important than earning respect from others? It’s the
respect that you earn from yourself i.e. self-respect.
